Book Review: Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 3 - Titan's Curse
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Titans Curse Book 3
Book Written by Rick Riordan
Review By JUSTIN C.
In Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 3 The Titans Curse, Percy Jackson is trying to save his friend Annabeth with Grover and his new friend Thalia from the end of book 2. This book is the most crazy cool and action book I have read! It even has crazy chapter names.
I will name some of the crazy chapter titles:
Chapter 2 -The vice principal gets a missile launcher,
Chapter 4 - Thalia torches new England,
Chapter 12 - I go snow boarding with a pig,
Chapter 15 - I wrestle Santa's evil twin, and
Chapter 20 -I get a new enemy for Christmas.
Those are some of the crazy chapter titles.
In Book 3 everything gets more intense. Grover, Percy's friend, calls Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia for help because he found two new half bloods. They get caught when they get to the half bloods . Annabeth gets taken.
After they are able to escape with the help of a god, they don't know where Annabeth was taken. Percy has visions of were Annabeth is and whats happening where she is. While he is trying to find Annabeth a dangerous creature begins following him. He wants to know why.
Titan's Curse is one of the best books I have read. This book has a lot of funny action scenes. Thalia is really afraid of heights. While they were at the top of a mountain they are being chased by a 34 foot tall wild boar. Thalia ends up on a shield snowboarding down the mountain with Percy Jackson while the wild boar is tumbling down behind them. Thalia is screaming the whole way down. It's hilarious!
I'm sure you'll want to know more read the book. I know you'll love it

Book Review: Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 2 Sea of Monsters
Book 2 Sea of Monsters
written by Rick Riordan
Review by Justin.C
I just finished my new
book Percy Jackson and the Olympians book 2 The Sea of Monsters
written by Rick Riordan. When the author Rick Riordan was in middle
school he wrote his first short story he wanted published but it was
not published. He was an English and History teacher but he wanted
to be a full time writer so he quit. He reminds me of my dad because
he likes fantasy and fiction books like my dad. My dad majored in
English when he was in college. He likes Lord of the Rings like my
dad. He even plays World of Warcraft with his children like my dad,
which cool. This book is very captivating. There are 279 pages in
this book and I finished the book in less than a day. I could not
put the book down. There are a lot of glorious action scenes which
made it intriguing and I wanted to keep reading. This is the first
book I have read that I wanted to be a character in.
The main character in the
book is Percy Jackson. Percy makes a new friend named Tyson the baby
cyclopes. The Percy Jackson books are mainly about Greek Mythology
being true. In Greek Mythology there are multiple gods such as,
Athena the god of wisdom, Aries the god of war, Hephaestus the
blacksmith god and many more. Percy is special because he is the son
of one of the big three gods. The names of the big three are Zeus,
Poseidon and Hades. Percy is the son of Poseidon the water god. In
the book Percy discovered that Tyson may be more than just a friend.
Percy has other friends
too like Grover who is a Satyr and Annabeth who is the daughter of
Athena. They met in book one Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief, at
the half blood camp. In camp half blood every one is the son or
daughter of a god or goddess, but they are half human. That is why
they are called half bloods. Camp Half blood is where they go to
train for fighting monsters.
Now in this book Percy is
trying to save his friend Grover. While he is trying to save his
friend, camp half blood is also in danger. He runs into Charybdis
and Scylla creatures who are sisters. Charybdis is a nightmare. She
is just a huge mouth with bad teeth. The book does not tell what
Scylla looks like because she snatches you as fast as sound and eats
you so fast pieces of your flesh will shoot out like bullets. They
have to fight them in order to continue on their quest to save
Grover. It gets more dangerous and intense the closer they get to
saving Grover. There is an explosion while Tyson is in the boiler
room of the submarine which was taking them to the Island where
Grover is but the ship blows up!
Will they get past
Charybdis and Scylla? Will Percy be able to save the Half Blood
Camp? Does Tyson survive the explosion? And will Percy Jackson save
his friend Grover?
Well, to find out you are going to have to read the book. Bye!
P.S. I am really excited about the movie

Book Review: Guardians of Ga'Hoole Book 2
Book 2 - The Journey
Book written by Kathryn Lasky.
Review by JUSTIN C. age 9
Today, I finished my book Guardians of Ga'Hoole - The Journey book 2. It was interesting to learn that the author went to college at the University of Michigan in the state were I was born. Just 20 minutes from where use to live. In the book, the main character is Soren the barn owl. Soren and his friends Gylfy, Twilight and Digger go on a journey to The Great Tree of Ga'Hoole after they had been captured in book 1. The Great Tree is on an Island far from where they were kidnapped in book 1. The tree has thousands of hollows for owls, which is like a huge city.
When they get to the tree they are taught talents that become skills to help them survive and learn to fight. There are different talents, like black-smithing, weather, navigation, and tracking. My favorite talent is black smithing because they make battle claws, helmets, and swords. I also like weather because you can ride twisters, tornadoes, and sometimes even hurricanes. Weather is cool too because it is very thrilling like jumping off a cliff during an earthquake. They learn these skills to someday become Guardians. Guardians are like Knights that come out only at night to do good deeds. Their mission is to, "Mend the broken, make strong the weak and vanquish all evil."
In this book Soren and his band make new friends. Some of their names are Primrose, Boron, Matron, Otulissa, Baran, Ezylryb, Bubo and Martin. They go to class with their new friends. While they go to class to become Guardians the evil St. Aegolius is still kidnapping owlets and stealing eggs to make soldiers to kill the Guardians of Ga'Hoole. Soren wants to try to learn his skills very fast but he has to stay focus so he can learn every little detail about the skill because he was chosen to learn two skills. Soren is anxious to stop St. Aegolius. Meanwhile, Soren's brother Clud joins St. Aegolius to help him destroy the Guardians. Soren is also worried about the rest of his family since he had been captured in book one. One of the Guardians finds a member of Sorens family on a scouting mission which distracts him from his studies even more.
I like book 2 because it has a lot of interesting things going on like the owls making kitchens, baking cakes, making tea and using nest maid snakes for tables. A nest maid snake is a snake that is blind and cleans nests for the owls. In the Ga'Hoole tree one of the rules there is no one can tell wet poop jokes and those jokes are funny. The King of the Ga'Hoole tree breaks the rule and tells his friends wet poop jokes a lot. I think this is one of the best books you can read because of all the cool action scenes, training, flights into hurricanes and tornadoes and battles.
So do you think Soren will stay focus to learn his skill faster or leave it before he is finish learning to go fight St. Aegolius? If you want to know more read this book!!! I know you'll like this book!
